VISITING HOURS AND GUIDELINES

Med/Surg Unit – Visiting hours 6 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Family support is important to the healing process of the patient. Please keep in mind the patient’s need for rest, quiet and privacy. Because visiting can be tiring to the patient, we ask that friends and relatives follow these visitation guidelines:

  • Patients are susceptible to contagious illness, so persons with colds, sore throats or other contagious illness should not visit.
  • Please respect all “no visitor” and “isolation” signs. The attending physician for the patients benefit has ordered these signs.

ICU – Visiting hours – 6:15 a.m.; 10:30 a.m.; 2:00 p.m.; 6:00 p.m.
Visitation is limited to two (2) visitors at a time for a total of fifteen (15) minutes per visiting period. No children under the age of 12 are permitted to visit. We ask that you remain in the patient’s room at all times to maintain the privacy of other patients during visits please. In the event of an emergency, visiting hours may be postponed. Family members are encouraged to remain in the ICU waiting room. You will be contacted by the ICU nurse when the physician is here.

PASTORAL CARE

At Avoyelles Hospital, we know that an important part of the healing process is a combination of physical, emotional and spiritual care. Clergy from our community visit with patients and families at your request. At Avoyelles, we respect the spirituality of all people, and if you would like a member of the clergy to visit with you, please let your nurse know. Visiting clergy from all denominations are encouraged to minister to patients from their congregations.

FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE…

For refreshments outside of our regular cafeteria hours, you will find vending machines located in front lobby of the hospital and also at the entrance to our Emergency Department.
